Meal plan

In an ongoing effort to stave off confusion and panic and eating crackers and cheese for dinner, we recently enacted a new meal plan initiative.

Put simply, this involves attaching a business card holder to our fridge, and sliding in little cards indicating what we'll eat each night for two weeks.

The cards have the title of what we'll eat (or where we'll be), with little notes about the basic ingredients needed for that meal, so we can make our shopping lists easier. We didn't include stuff like spices, but most other stuff is on there.

The cards are fun to make, although they take 5-10 minutes each to make. We currently have a stockpile of 28 cards, including meal cards, leftovers cards, go out cards, and dinner at Aunt Kristi's cards!

Now that we have most of the cards, it should be reasonably easy to add more, and keep the project interesting and up-to-date. We'll see if we continue with it, and if Sophie shows any interest. (Maybe she'll learn to spell "quinoa" before the others in her class, and that should really give her a head start into the wide world of ancient grains.)

Hooray for no more cheese and crackers for dinner! (Unless we decide to make a card for it.)

Hey, cute idea. Where's the "Tidbits" card?

It's in the works. We're not sure how to draw "random nonsense" on a card.
